Hospital Tour

Front of the Hospital
Due to construction on the adjacent street, we were unable to take a more distanced photograph of the building. This angle allows you to see the incredible visibility of our sign and the well-kept and manicured landscaping.

Fenced Area
This fenced area is where we walk boarding dogs. Directly through the fence is an area, complete with a cement fire hydrant, for clients to walk their dogs. Our grounds are professionally cared for to keep its manicured appearance.

Parking
The front entrance is opposite the street side of the hospital in order to eliminate traffic problems. Ample parking is available.

Lobby
The most unique feature in the reception area is the curved wall. This feature adds interest to the waiting area and softens the squared-off appearance of many modern and conventional lobbies. This wall houses the doors to the exam rooms, with recessed areas containing the large scale, a complimentary coffee and juice service counter, and a custom-built aquarium. The lobby is divided into a cat waiting area and a dog waiting area.

Cat Waiting Area
Upon entering the hospital, the cat waiting area is to the left. This is separate from the dog waiting area to provide a more calm and relaxing wait for not only the patients, but also the clients. The comfortable seating was chosen to duplicate the feeling of home for the animals. The cat waiting area is connected to the cat condominiums, which provides interaction between boarding cats and those waiting in the lobby.

Dog Waiting Area
The dog waiting area is directly to the right as you enter the hospital. With the same seating as in the cat waiting area, the client’s wait will be a comfortable and relaxing one. By keeping the dogs separate from the cats, each will be more relaxed in preparation for their examination.

Retail Area
The main retail area is for dog food and so it is situated in the dog waiting area. Adjacent to the cat waiting area is the smaller cat food retail area. Many of our patients require prescription diet food, and this provides the client with a convenient manner in which to purchase it.

Exam Room
Upon entering each exam room, the client and patient are welcomed by soft colors and rounded corners. Each room has its own unique color scheme and was decorated by a professional. The cabinet above the sink houses our cleaning materials while the drawers provide storage for syringes, blood tubes, materials for treating eyes, ears, and skin, and client education materials. Stainless steel plates frame the exam table’s support to keep urine odors from absorbing into the woodwork. Included are signs asking clients to allow the staff to restrain the animals.

Beyond the Exam Rooms
When exiting the exam rooms into the back of the hospital, you enter the island and pharmacy area. The pharmacy is directly outside the exam rooms allowing easy access to all medications and ease in dispensing medications.

Pharmacy/Island
Our highly accessible pharmacy offers a complete variety of medications to ensure its availability in your pet’s time of need. The island offers housing for medical records, reference books, and client information handouts.

Lab
We perform many routine blood tests within the hospital, enabling us to analyze results efficiently and provide immediate care. This view is seen when exiting exam room four. We are able to look directly through the lab into the dog ward and keep a close eye on sick animals that are there for hospitalization. The many drawers and cabinets are used for storing extra syringes, needles, lab materials, etc. We also have ample storage overhead for things that do not require immediate accessibility.

Treatment
We offer the finest quality and latest technologies in veterinary services that include immunizations, dentistry, major and minor surgery, radiology and chemotherapy. Preparations for most of these procedures occur in this treatment area. With four exam tables built in, there is ample space for examinations. Two of the exam tables are tubs with grates placed over them, these are used primarily for surgery preparations and dentals. This picture is taken from the radiology area.

Isolation
This view of the isolation ward is taken from the dog ward. Isolation is used primarily for animals with communicable diseases. The window was installed so everyone would be able to properly monitor any animal in isolation. The floor slopes down toward a drain to allow proper cleaning and sterilization.

Surgery Prep Area
This view of the surgery preparation area is taken from the treatment area. This is where all of the surgery packs and materials are sterilized before use.

Surgery
This view of the surgery room is taken from the treatment area and shows our spacious room with three windows to welcome natural light in. Every patient that is anesthetized in the hospital has their own assistant assigned to monitor their vital signs during surgery.

Radiology
Instead of having to enter through a doorway, which is awkward with an anesthetized animal, our radiology area was designed as an expansion of the treatment area, with a 5′11″ opening to serve as the entrance. This is within the state codes for radiology, which allow this type of arrangement when it involves vertical-beam radiographs only.

Grooming
The built-in stairs leading into the grooming tub are a real “back-saver” for the groomer when larger dogs need to be placed in the tub. Each dog can simply be led up the stairs with a leash rather than causing unnecessary anxieties that could possibly result in injury. This technique is less threatening and therefore less stressful.

Kennel
We provide your pet with optimum care during their stay in our facility. For the dogs we offer individual runs. Each of the 15 runs has 3 removable side-by-side grates, and is elevated about 6 inches off the ground to provide ease in cleaning. The floor was designed sloping slightly to one side so all of the dogs’ messes and all of the water can easily run off into the drain along the wall. The drains are rinsed out twice daily by simply pulling a cord on the wall and then flushed out by pressing a button. We keep the concrete floor looking as new as possible by pressure washing weekly.

Cat Boarding
Our condos were designed by a local architect and custom built for this space. They allow more vertical space for the boarding cats, and can be increased to an even greater size by removing the floor between the upper and lower condos, making a vertical space of nearly 7 feet. It is also possible to lift the circular openings between condos to allow the cats more horizontal room. The front of each condo is a windowed door overlooking the cat waiting area.
